STORY 13
Jason: Hey, Brian. I just saw you walk in. Zach and I got a table at the back. Come and join us.
ジェイソン：おい、ブライアン。今、君が店に入ってくるのを見たんだ。ザックと僕は後ろのテーブルなんだ。こっちにおいでよ。
Brian: OK. I'll just get a beer at the bar and then I'll come and join you.
ブライアン：いいよ。バーでビールをゲットしたら、そっちへ行くよ。
Jason: That's alright, you can order at the table.
ジ：そんなことしなくても、テーブルで注文できるよ。
Brian: OK, then.
ブ：オーケー。じゃ行こう。
Zach: Oh, hey, Brian. How's it going?
ザック：やあ、ブライアン。元気かい？
Brian: Alright. Keeping busy. How are you?
ブ：元気さ。相変わらず忙しいし。君は？
Zach: Not bad.
ザ：元気だよ。
Waiter: Can I take your order?
ウエイター：ご注文はよろしいですか？
Brian: Could I have the same thing these guys are having?
ブ：ほかの２人と同じもの、もらえるかな。
Waiter: Sure.
ウエイター：わかりました。
Brian: Thanks.
ブ：ありがとう。
Zach: It's good to see you again, Brian.
ザ：また会えてうれしいよ、ブライアン。
Brian: Yeah, same here, man. Hey, Jason, I heard you went on a date with Lisa.
ブ：僕もだ。この前もこの店だったね。おいジェイソン、リサとデートしたって聞いたよ。
Jason: News certainly travels fast.
ジ：噂の広がるのは速いもんだなあ。
Zach: Who is Lisa?
ザ：リサって誰だい？
Brian: Lisa is Katie's new roommate. They had a little dinner party at their apartment last week for me and Jason.
ブ：リサって、ケイティーの新しいルームメイトさ。先週彼女たち、僕とジェイソンをアパートに招いてくれて、ささやかなディナーパーティーを開いてくれたんだ。
Zach: And you already took her out on a date? Wow, you work fast!
ザ：それでもう、デートに誘ったってわけ？ 手が速いね。
Jason: It was nothing that serious, really. We just went out for some dinner, that's all.
ジ：そんなたいそうなことじゃなく、ただ単に一緒に夕食を食べただけさ。
Brian: Well, are you going to ask her out again?
ブ：またデートに誘うかい？
Waiter: Here you go.
ウエイター：はい、どうぞ。
Jason: I'm not so sure. I mean, she is more than five years younger than me.
ジ：わからないなあ。彼女、僕より５歳以上も年下なんだぜ。
Zach: That's not such a big deal.
ザ：そんなの大したことじゃないよ。
Jason: OK, let's change the subject.
ジ：オーケー。話題を変えよう。
Brian: Hey, don't be so touchy!
ブ：そんなに照れるなよ！
Jason: I'm not being touchy. There's just not that much to talk about yet.
ジ：照れてるわけじゃないよ。それについて話すことも、まだ、あまリ無いしね。
Brian: Zach, did you notice how he added the word "yet" to the end of his sentence?
ブ：ザック、「まだ」って言ったのに気づいたか？
Zach: Exactly. That says it all.
ザ：ああ。それがすべてを物語るよ。
Jason: OK, enough already. Brian, what have you been up to?
ジ：もういいよ。ブライアン、最近何してる？
Brian: Oh, same old same old. I have been working on designing a new mobile phone.
ブ：相も変わらずだよ。新しい携帯電話のデザインをしてるよ。
Zach: Wow, that sounds pretty technical.
ザ：おお、それはまた、かなり専門的だなあ。
Brian: It's not really. I'm just designing the outside, the buttons, colors, things like that. Other people design the inside.
ブ：そうでもないよ。僕がデザインしてるのは外側。ボタンとか色とか。内側は他の人がデザインするのさ。
Jason: It sounds like a pretty cool project, though.
ジ：でも、それって、めちゃめちゃ力ッコいい仕事じゃない？
Brian: Yeah, it's a good experience, because I have never really designed anything like that before.
ブ：まあね、いい経験ではあるよ。そんなのをデザインしたこと、今までになかったからね。
Zach: You'll have to show us a prototype when it is ready.
ザ：試作品が出来上がったら、見せてくれよ。
Brian: Yeah sure, I'll do that. So Zach, what have you been up to?
ブ：いいとも。じゃあ、ザック、君は最近何してるの？
Zach: Nothing much. Just work, probably nothing you haven't already heard from Katie.
ザ：特には何も。ただひたすら仕事さ。君がケイティーから聞いてることがすべてじゃないかな。
Brian: Hey, you should get out more.
ブ：もっと外へ出なきや。
Jason: Hey, I'm ready for another beer. Zach, do you want one?
ジ：僕はもう１杯ビールを飲むけど。ザック、君は？
Zach: Yeah, sure.
ザ：ああ、飲むよ。
Jason: Brian?
ジ：ブライアンは？
Brian: No, not quite yet. I'll get one next time the waiter comes around.
ブ：まだ後でいいよ。ウエイターが今度来たとき、注文するよ。
