Q: You are on a local basketball team. Your coach asks you to attend a team meeting on Monday. However, every Monday, you volunteer at a hospital so you can’t go to the meeting. What would you say?
A: I’m sorry, but I can’t on Monday. Could you brief me at another time?
Q: Your younger sister wants you to teach her how to drive. She asks if you could teach her tomorrow, but you have already made plans with your friends. The good news is you have some free time today. What would you say?
A: Tomorrow isn’t good for me. Can we do it today?
Q: Your friend asks you to help her set up her new computer on the 5th of next month when it will be delivered. However, you will be out of town on that day. What would you say?
A: I’d like to help you, but I’m busy on the 5th.

A: Tuesday is going to be a little difficult for me. You’d better ask someone else.
Q: You are a financial consultant. One of your clients calls you and says he wants to talk to you about his investment plans on Monday. However, you are fully booked on that day. What would you say?
A: I’m sorry but I’m not available on Monday. Is this urgent?
Q: You get a call from a famous international organization. They would like you to present a speech at a conference they are holding next month. However, you are expected at another meeting on that day. What would you say?
A: I would have liked to attend, but I have a previous engagement.
