Q: Imagine you were late for work. You overslept this morning because youralarm didn’t go off. How would you apologize for it?
A: I’m so sorry for being late for work. I overslept this morning because myalarm didn’t go off.
Or, you could say,
A: I do apologize for being late for work. I overslept this morning because my alarm didn’t go off.
Q: Imagine you interrupted your boss because you didn’t realize he was busy with his client. How would you apologize for it?
A:
I’m sorry for having interrupted you. I didn’t realize you were busy with your client.
Or, you could say,
A:
I do apologize for having interrupted you. I didn’t realize you were busy with your client.
Q: Imagine you shouted at your colleague yesterday because you lost control of yourself. How would you apologize for it?
A:
I’m terribly sorry for shouting at you yesterday. I lost control of myself. Or, you could say,
A:
I do really apologize for shouting at you yesterday. I lost control of myself.
Q: Imagine you made some noise at midnight, but you didn’t mean to wake up your roommate. How would you apologize for it?
A:
I’m awfully sorry I made noise at midnight. I didn’t mean to wake you up. Or, you could say,
A:
I do apologize for making noise at midnight. I didn’t mean to wake you up.
Q: Imagine you didn’t bring your homework because your dog ate it. Howwould you apologize for it?
A:
I’m so sorry for not bringing my homework. My dog ate it. Or, you could say,
A:
I do apologize for not bringing my homework. My dog ate it.
