Q: You heard that your favorite band is playing in a nearby town. You would like your friend to drive you to the train station so you can go to the concert. What would you say?
A: Can you do me a favor? I need a ride to the train station.
Q: You’ve been struggling to open a jar of pickles. Your brother, who is older and stronger than you, walks into the room. What would you say?
A: Can you give me a hand? I can’t open this pickle jar.
Q: You are playing a computer game when suddenly your computer starts making funny noises and the screen freezes. You have no idea what to do. You want to ask your smart roommate for help. What would you say?
A: Can you help me, please? There’s something wrong with my computer.

Q: You are preparing for a meeting with your clients. You want to show them what the finished product will look like, using a projector. However, you don’t know which button to press to make the projector work. You want to ask a colleague to help you. What would you say?
A: Could you help me for a second? I can’t figure out how to use the projector.
Q: You went bird-watching in the forest. After spending a wonderful time, you get back to your car and discover that your car won’t start. It’s getting late, and you really need to get home. You see a stranger coming your way. He may be able to help you. What would you say?
A: Would you mind helping me out? My car won’t start.
Q: Your boss asks you to organize a company picnic at a lake. You think it’s too much work to organize it by yourself and want to ask your colleague for help. What would you say?
A: I wonder if you could help me organize the company outing.
