◆Let’s try the following exercises.

Q: You’re in Manhattan, and you want to go to Brooklyn by bus. You’re looking for a bus stop. What would you say?
A: Where can I catch a bus to Brooklyn?

 


Q: You’re waiting for a train on a platform. The train has arrived, but before you get on, you want to make sure the train is heading for the right destination. What would you say?
A: Is this the right train for Boston?
or
Does this train go to Boston?

 


Q: You came to a bus stop, and people are waiting in line. You want to know what time the next bus leaves. What would you say?
A: Excuse me, when does the next bus leave?

 


Q: You’re at a subway station. You want to know at which station you should transfer. What would you say?
A: I want to go to Lincoln Center. Where should I transfer?

 


Q: You’re taking a bus to Los Angeles, and you want to get off at Santa Barbara. What would you say to the driver?
