We'll start the informational film in a few minutes,
But first, I'd like to tell you about
some of the photographes on the wall.
Most of them were taken in the 19th century,
when the railroad was being built.
If you look closely, you can see that
the laborers wore heavy woolen work uniforms
even in the middle of summer.
Temperatures reached almost 100 degrees some summers,
and in the winter
they sometimes worked in a foot of snow.
the cost of building the railroad was about 50,000 dollars,
which works out at about 2 million dollars in today's money.
OK, I'd better start the film now.
It last for around half an hour and afterwards,
we'll get a chance to explore one of
the old steam engines that have here.
